Asteismus

 is a rhetorical term for a mocking or humorous reply that employs word play.



Examples

Professor Wagstaff: Tomorrow we start tearing down the college.
Professors: But professor, where will the students sleep?
Professor WagstaffWhere they always sleep: in the classroom.
